About Chris

Ottawa-born singer / songwriter Chris McCann has two albums to her credit, "It's My Party", a live album packed with party favourites, and a Christmas album, "To Santa With Love", a collection of holiday fun. Her rich, throaty voice, engaging personality and wry sense of humour make her a favourite of the Ottawa Valley music scene.

Chris also participated in the "The Christmas in the Valley" project which produced a number of albums of which all proceeds went to CHEO. The likes of Wayne Rostadt, Colleen Peterson, Charlie Major and The Family Brown also performed holiday favourites.

Chris is also the writer of the official" Ottawa Song" which won great acclaim back in 1982. The song for Ottawa contest attracted some of the best in the business but Chris prevailed. The song is used in schools and tourisism ads to promote the city.

Besides making a living performing, Chris also devotes a great portion of her time to fund raising in the Ottawa area. The cause closest to her heart is that of the "Canadian Leukemia Studies Group" due in part by the fact that the disease took the life of her mother Joan. The search for a cure, or at the least to ensure that victims of Leukemia can have a better quality of life and more tolerant treatments. is their goal.

Chris left hometown Vanier and toured Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes as a member of the country band Bourbon Hill. More recently, Chris toured Europe with The Armed Forces Show Tour. She was both host and performer for the variety shows that featured an eighteen member cast
